The Slackers
The Slackers
The Slackers are self styled masters of Reggae, Ska and Rock’n’Roll from New York City.

The Slackers began in 1991 in NYC. After years of local gigs and rehearsing in a dingy basement in Manhattan’s lower east side, the band released its debut album, Better Late Than Never, in 1996. The band’s success resulted in the release of a second album, Red Light, on the Epitaph label in 1997. Since then the Slackers have released 11 more studio albums (The Question, Wasted Days, Slackers & Friends, Close My Eyes, Slackers in Dub, Peculiar, Boss Harmony Sessions, Self Medication, Lost and Found, The Great Rocksteady Swindle, and The Slackers [self-titled, 2016] ) 3 live albums (Live at Ernestos, Upsettin Ernestos, Slack in Japan), several EPs (International War Crimminal, My Bed is a Boat), and numerous singles and compilation tracks.

Since 1997 the Slackers have played over 100 shows every year in a total of 46 american states, 7 Canadian provinces, 22 European countries, 5 Latin American countries, and 2 Asian countries.

The band’s musical style is distinct from their contempories; a mix of early Jamaican music with classic 50’s and 60s American styles. There are influences from 50s and 60s Rock’n’Roll, Rythmn and Blues, Jazz and Latin music. Singer Vic Ruggiero has coined the term ‘Jamaican Rock’nRoll.’ to describe it. He says, “The band might play a classic Jamaican style but the vocals are distinctly American east coast, revealing the obvious connection of Jamaican music to the Doo-Wop of Harlem and the Bronx.”

With the demise of record companies over the last 5 years, the Slackers have successfully used crowdfunding ( to release new music including the latest release, The Slackers [self-titled] in February 2016.
Llama Tsunami
Llama Tsunami first took the stage in 2008, and nourished by the hearty bread they consumed, the band quickly became a nonstop dance machine! Get ready for danceable beats, catchy horn lines, and a ton of fun!

Playing since their inception across New England, the band has developed a strong and dedicated fan base, recently winning the regional Shure Give It Voice battle of the bands at the Paradi
se Rock Club in Boston and national round, earning them a slot at the RedGorilla Music Festival in Austin during SXSW. They have been booked with bands such as Reel Big Fish, Streetlight Manifesto, The Toasters, Sonic Boom 6, We Are Scientists, Mates of State, and many other great acts.

Their 2010 album "Get Serious" captures the essence of the band's primary message. The title of the album is both ironic and fitting. In a way, it mocks those who take themselves far too seriously and are unable to laugh at a joke at their own expense, but it also recognizes the necessity for dedication. As the band's first full length studio album, it offers their light-hearted approach to songwriting and tempers that with more mature songs with a deeper message. There is something for everyone on this album, but in the end the album is simply lots of fun. As the band says:

"We play ska. Some people don't like us because apparently ska isn't fun anymore. We beg to differ."
So Long Liberty
So Long Liberty is an American punk band from Eastern CT. The band consists of guitarist and vocalist Shane Alsop, bassist Pete Kwiecinski, drummer Tom Fay, and Keyboardist Joe Nettleton. Founded in 2011 by Shane, Pete, and Tom, the band released its first demo e.p. under the name “The Excitement Gang”. In 2014 Bret Barton joined the band on lead guitar. The band subsequently recorded Single for the song “CT Summer” and continued to develop their sound which is a fusion of punk, reggae, ska and rock. After a year of playing shows regionally, Bret left the band and was replaced by Joe on keyboards in late 2015. The Excitement Gang continued to evolve until in late 2016 when it became apparent that the band has changed in message and sound from its beginnings. A new name and focus was necessary. So Long Liberty entered the studio with seasoned regional musician and recording engineer James Castelano and completed their newest EP “So Long Liberty". available now at shows. Bret re- joined the band for the CD release and the band is currently working on their next release for early 2018.

Members of So Long Liberty are/were also in the bands Forced Reality, Flip Ya For Real, The Glueseaspiders, Bret the One Man Band,Distance No Object, Blastmat, and The Distributors.
